Wampas

Wampas (1985)

This is a quite unique 7´´ vinyl EP from the French outfit and very hard to find these days. It includes four brilliant tracks, a bizarre mixture of Rockabilly, Punk and Garage elements, intensified by the youthful enthusiasm and the uncommon use of French lyrics. The song Dracu Bop also made it on the Psycho Attack Over Europe compilation album . Tracklist: Dracu Bop, Ma Petite Amie// B.M., Wampas.

Tutti Frutti (1987)

This is the exciting mini album from the French Psychobilly pioneers, originally out as 12'' vinyl on Creepy Crawly in 1987. The quartet laid down some six tracks of anarchic Psychobilly with influences from the Garage, Trash side of the genre for this release. Despite drifting away from the scene creating a more Punk Rock, Pop-Punk sound on later publications, it cannot be denied that the WAMPAS left their mark with their wild rockin' offerings in their early years.  The album was re-released  together with the rare debut EP and previously unissued live tracks from the band's formative year1983 on CD format in 1999. Highlights: Shalala, Marie-Lou, Trous and their brilliant cover of Ballroom Blitz, that re-written in French .
