LUCKY DEVILS

To Hell (2005 )

This is the third album of the Lille-based Psychobilly trio, originally labelled by Crazy Love Records on 12īī vinyl and CD format. Their blend of wild Neorockabilly and Punk elements, boosted by a great slappinī double bass and distorted guitar riffs, creates some highly powerful, but still very melodic Psychobilly music. Highlights: Beautiful Stranger, Tiger Man, No Peace Of Mind and their unusual cover versions of The Ramonesī Zero Zero U.F.O. And the Mapsī Eloise.

Goin' Mad! (2008)

In a genre that history is packed with bands, which had a great debut offering and than nothing to say, the French LUCKY DEVILS go vice versa. Going from strength to strength with each release, Goinī Mad! is definitely their best offering so far. A very traditional rhythm section, mixed with a twangy guitar sound, well-written songs  and great job from the producerīs chair result in a top-notch release. The highlights of the bandīs fourth studio album, that is available with a gorgeous digi-pack including a nice booklet are both versions of Running Away (the regular version features Mark Cole on vocals), Leave Me Alone, Suicide and their covers of Donīt Let Me Be Misunderstood and Gangster.

A Mental Journey (2012)

A Mental Journey are offering Lille-based THE LUCKY DEVILS with their 5th studio album. The classic three-piece has become one of the well-established brands of the Psychobilly cosmos with trademark guitaring, fat rhythm section, catchy song-writing, distinctive sleeve designs and disguising songs from other genres to make them Psycho rockin'. Their 2012 release is no exception here, and if anything it will just cement their reputation as one of the more creative and most original outfits on the current rockin' scene. This twelve-track brain trip is packed with potential dance floor fillers, foot stompers, well-written originals and four completely rearranged cover versions from the likes of X-Ray Spex, Break Machine and Chris Isaak. Songs like You're Bad, Caroline, I'm A Poseur, Nightmares, Blue Hotel and Hinnom get to the heart of this Crazy Love release. Strong buy!
